Brahms Requiem in Marblehead tonight

The Old North Festival Chorus will perform the Brahms Requiem at 7:30 pm tonight at Old North Church. This performance is open to all and there is no admission charge ( a free will offering will be accepted.)

Brahms’ Requiem is unlike any other. As a recent New York Times review (How Brahms’ A German Requiem became an anthem for our times) stated: Rather than dwelling on the judgment of the deceased, he seemed intent on consoling those left behind. It was Brahms who originated the term “human requiem”.

This is a staggeringly beautiful and moving work. Please come tonight!
