SFH Inventory as of September 1 dropped slightly from August 1 and still trails historic levels. See the chart and comment later in this article for more details.

Condo inventory picked up a little as of September 1, but still lags historic numbers :

Mortgage rates
After moving up earlier in the year the 30-year Fixed Rate Mortgage has dropped well below 3% again. Note how cheap 15-year mortgages are for those who can afford the extra monthly payment.

While there has been some pick-up in inventory in recent months, this next chart shows how the number fluctuates on a daily basis.

And despite the much lower inventory levels than in 2019 the number of Accepted Offers during the May-August period is only 4% lower:

Now we wait to see if there will be a pick up in New Listings after Labor Day.
