What does $27 million buy in Nantucket?
Answer: a 5,000 sf, 5 bedroom home on 1.5 acres, but….. it is on a cliff overlooking Nantucket Sound.
8 homes in total sold for over $10 million in 2014.
It may not be Nantucket but the North Shore offers great value in oceanfront property and I expect a strong market for such properties in 2015.

Why do you expect that, A?
Any specifics?
vb, Jody
I will publish a broader North Shore report soon, but as you know Marblehead saw record sales over $1 million and also over $2 million. See my November post on the subject.
As for the reasons for my optimism for 2015, these include:
– record sales in 2014
– the natural progression of markets rippling out from the epicentre of Boston
– strengthening economy
– gathering confidence
– low interest rates
– with the stock market at record highs profits may be reinvested in real estate
