Million Dollar Home Sales jump 56%

After holding steady for several years, sales of Single Family Homes (SFHs) over $1 million in Essex County jumped 56% from 91 to 142 in the first half of 2018.

While most sales took place in the $1-2 million range, there was a significant increase also in sales over $2 million.

And here is the town by town guide for the last two years, with the largest number of sales as usual in Marblehead and Andover, although Boxford showed a sharp increase.

Which town has the most Million Dollar Sales?

30 of Essex County’s 34 cities and towns have recorded a sale of $1 million or more since 2000 – the exceptions are Lawrence, Lynn, Methuen and Peabody. Three towns – Marblehead,Andover and Manchester – account for 40% of all sales. (more…)

Million Dollar Sales – now vs the peak

Million dollar sales in Essex County continue to pick up and are approaching the levels of 2005/06, but there are some marked variations from town to town, while sales at the highest level continue to lag.

Million Dollar home sales picking up

Million dollar home sales were flat in the first four months of 2015 compared with 2014, but both years showed a strong increase over 2013.

But the pace of million dollar sales is picking up with 74 pending* sales currently. As usual, Marblehead leads the way: (more…)
