Marblehead Home Sales best since 2004

This week’s closed sales took the year’s total to 238, the best since 2004. Based on anticipated sales dates the full year will come in around 245.

Note, however, that sales this century remain below the levels of the late 1990s. Nevertheless, sales are strong and the median price in 2014 will likely just top the previous peak with a gain of about 10% on the year.

2014 was also the year when activity at last moved up into the upper end, with record sales over $1 million.

With an economy seemingly finally gaining momentum, the outlook for 2015 is positive.
